All about Retail and Wholesale Jobs

Whether it is shoes, DVDs or Star Wars merchandise, the majority of us love shopping for the things that we love. But, how many of us have the passion and drive for a job in retail or wholesale?

Whilst many big-name retailers are going bankrupt and ultimately closing down, there are many that are actually thriving, therefore the market is still hot and competition is increasingly tough.

Roles in the Retail and Wholesale sectors stem deeper than sales assistants and sale managers. Roles include: Buyers who are the people that choose what products are sold in store and Customer Service Advisors who handle everything to orders and returns, to complaints.

The rise of the Internet over the past ten or so years, means that retail jobs are not just restricted to high streets, but online shops who run from large warehouses are becoming incredibly popular, which may be ideal for people with warehouse experience or do not want to deal with customers face-to-face.

Qualifications depend on the role, although whilst a degree in Retail may be your key to entry, many higher-level positions require experience on the shop floor over qualifications. Training is provided in most areas of retail and wholesale.
