All about IT , Software Development and Internet Jobs

The Information Technology profession broadly divides into three key areas:

Hardware and infrastructure roles cover the configuration and care of equipment such as servers, hubs, telecommunications, networks and devices through to the operating systems and software which govern them.

Software development refers to the functionality required by an individual or an organisation. It begins with an understanding of what is needed before defining requirements, designing solutions and procuring software either by purchase or computer programming.

Thirdly, service management is an area of IT focused on the quality of service provided to customers.

IT attracts people with both vocational and academic interests. The British Computer Society – The Chartered Institute for IT - is a useful source of additional information.

IT has grown exponentially in capacities and in workplace use. With the onset of Internet, mobile and Cloud technologies IT continues its global shift.

It is worth noting that the most sought after jobs of 2010 had not been invented in 2004. Today’s IT students will, in the future, be addressing issues not yet identified, using technologies that may not have been invented and occupying roles as yet unheard of.
